Dan & Luke Recommend

What should I read, you ask? Check out some recommendations from Dan & Luke.

Dan –

Currently reading: ‘Lincoln’s Melancholy’, ‘Darkness Visible’ by William Styron.

Just finished ‘The Wind Up Bird Chronicle’ by Murakami, and holy crow I couldn’t put it down — all 600 pages of it! I highly recommend it. Not sure if I loved the ending, but I felt it ended just about the only way it could.

Up next is ‘Revolutionary Road’ by Richard Yates, ‘Trainspotting’ by Irvine Welsh, and ‘Less than Zero’ by Bret Eaton Ellis. Shocking that I’ve read NONE of these previously.

All time Desert Islands Top 5 Books :

Kurt Vonnegut – God Bless You Mr. Rosewater
Michael Chabon – Kavalier and Clay
Albert Camus – The Stranger
John Steinbeck – East of Eden
Chris Ware – Jimmy Corrigan

LUKE:

Wouldn’t leave home without Jorge Luis Borges’ Collected Stories. Or a collection of Philip K. Dick’s short stories for that matter. The Asiatics by Frederic Prokosch is pretty hot, and one of my new faves, as is Cormac McCarthy’s The Road. I’ve been hearing good things about The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao by Junot Diaz so I’ll probably read that next.
